Have 3 of Amanda's coloring books: Doodle Animals, Beautiful Horses and this one. Enjoy her style. Pleasing renditions and unique presentations such as a Paint horse with grapevine background, mini horse foal with ibis, horse in desert scene with cactus, Dressage horse & rider with palm trees, horse with loving cat friend and coach horses in old city. Generally don't care for people included with the horses but several of the pictures in this book feature circus scenes with human performers and competition events with riders which are nicely done. The horses are well drawn and distinctive, many with gorgeous flowing manes. Mini horses are included which I haven't seen in other coloring books. The pages are 1 sided but not perforated. The PDF link in the back of the book did not work & allow me to print out pages. Compared to Creative Haven these Happy Coloring books are a bit overpriced. Posting a photo of page in process.

VERY PRETTY PICTURES AND ARE PRINTED ON ONE SIDE OF THE PAGE. ALSO THE PAPER IS NICE BRIGHT WHITE AND NICE WEIGHT. BUT DONT TAKE A CHANCE,,,USE A PROTECTIVE SHEET UNDER THE PAGE YOU ARE COLORING SO THERES NO CHANCE OF BLEED THRU.

Gave this to my horse loving friend that was feeling down with a 50 piece set of crayola colored pencils purchased on Amazon. She LOVED it! She said she was "coloring her butt off". Sometimes she'd randomly choose a color so had purple horses, blue horses...you get it. Wanted to get her a book that was realistic. Very happy with the purchase! Highly recommend.

Love this book! Beautifully drawn horses with clear lines and interesting backgrounds. I think this is the nicest horse coloring book I've ever seen. So often it's an artist that doesn't know how to draw horses. Not so here. These horses are beautiful.

You dont see many horse coloring books so i thought id get this one. Its on the cheaper side but totally worth it, in my opinion . I can tell that the artist put a lot of time into each drawing. The coloring book is very pretty and the coloring pages are very detailed. Each page the lines are very well printed and crisp. Thank you so much and Ill be coloring away!!

While it killed my romanticized view of the industry, these awesome volumes put you there in the offices of Marvel and DC during these decades.These volumes provide a year-by-year look at the comic book industry…the creators, the titles, the hits and the misses, the sales, and the trends. Each book is nearly 300 pages in length which means each year of the decade has a chapter devoted to it of almost 30 pages. The meticulously researched volumes give you a behind-the-scenes look at what was going on in the industry. The 1970s remains special for me as that was when I became a comic book fan. This is the first book in a series of adventures featuring a bear named Joy. Set in the tropical rainforest of Sumatra, readers are rapidly propelled into a nonstop fantasy adventure. Joy will learn a lot about himself and teach his readers about courage, bravery, and standing up for themselves and others. Joy meets an assortment of magical characters, an exotic bird, a magical frog, orangutans, and a trickster fox to name a few.Joy teaches readers the importance of family relationships, stewardship of Mother Earth, and respect for creatures of other cultures. Readers are exposed to the good and bad of humans as well as the inner struggles faced within oneself. The color illustrations move the story along for younger readers and help to illuminate the hidden storylines. Children will love the magical characters who are part of the story with Joy, the Sun Bear. We learn so much about courage, love, and friendship with others who are unlike us. What a journey the little bear takes with his magical friends and foes as well. The relationship he has with his sister is so real; children will relate to them in a big way. This book has many lessons on respect for the environment and others sharing the planet with us. The story features refugees looking for a new home and helping them allows little Joy to learn so much about himself and his own courageousness. The story’s lessons are presented in a fun and colorful way. The kids may not realize they are learning while reading it. I highly recommended this story and look forward to the next installment about Joy.

This is an amazing children's chapter book. It holds the attention and teaches lessons on compassion and helping others in need. When Joy Sun Bear realizes how damaging the forest terrain can affect his animal friends, he musters up what he can within himself to help. Adventure, moral lessons, fantastic illustrations... what more could a child want? Or an Adult for that matter? I enjoyed this book immensely and I'm 55 years old. Also, it's a great way to introduce a child to reading a chapter book who may not have reached that stage, yet. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to see where Joy and his friends go to next!

Ordered this for my 8 year old. She is really enjoying it. It tempted me to go ahead and read the story and must say i really enjoyed reading it from start to finish. I was hooked on the story which is very well written and illustrations are really beautiful. The print is easy on the eyes and vocabulary is perfect for kids to easily understand the story. The story is about a Sun bear named Joy and his adventure and he educates us about deforestation and its effects and also teaches us about acceptance, respect and compassion. What an exceptional book! The storyline includes crucial environmental issues as well as the concept of refugees, all presented in a manner that will resonate with children of all ages. As a lawyer who took labor law in law school, I love this book! I wish I would have had this for my exam because it pretty much sums up collective bargaining in a nutshell. Of course, I find it hilarious and cute. My son likes to point at the animals. It's a win-win. Although we did not have to negotiate that!

I'm a 3rd grade reading teacher and know kids enjoy Doreen Cronin's books. I read the book prior to adding it to my classroom library and was disappointed. It's not her best work. The book lacks sentence fluency, (is choppy) and does not have much of a plot, even for the reading level.

cute book ,just wish it was in color . but its good for 6-8 year old to read. wish amazon would start showing inside of books , so I try to.

I found it difficult to find a book for my daughter. She does not care for princess books or those marketed specifically to girls. So we tried Chicken Squad. She absolutely loved the book. Overall, I find it to be a terrific book for little girls looking for adventure and/or a mystery. It's funny and silly.

I'd anxiously awaited the day that my toddler grandson would sit still long enough to listen to one of the library of books I'd purchase for him. I'd tried many times to get him to settle in on my lap for a story, like his mom always did. He was always too active! This past August, we vacationed at the Outer Banks. The owner of the home we rented had a large collection of children's books. On the first day, Colin spied a tattered copy of Click Clack Moo and climbed aboard my lap for a story. For the first time, he sat through the entire book. At the end of the tale, he uttered "I want more," which in two-year-old means "Read it again!" During the week we were at the beach, he probably had it read to him about a hundred times! Before we left for home, I ordered Click-Clack Moo and a few other Click-Clack books to have waiting for him when we arrived back home. His parents and I have it memorized so that we can "read it" while we're driving. This book opened my grandson up to the world of reading and enjoying stories. I more that highly recommend it!

A little thinner and more fragile than I like in board books - it will not hold up to the odd bite or love from a toddler, be warned - but the illustrations and story are cute. Seriously though, you don't want to hand this to a kid who hasn't learned to be gentle or handle books with care. My 13 mo old got it out of my hands for a second, mouthed the corner of the spine and the printed area/top layer of paper came right off.

I absolutely love this book. It is silly, fun to read, and very creative. The cows find a typewriter and type a demand for electric blankets... when the farmer refuses, the cows and hens go on strike and refuse to give the farmer milk or eggs. Finally both parties agree to an exchange of the typewriter for electric blankets and send the neutral ducks to oversee the exchanges.... the cows and hens are happy with their electric blankets but the neutral ducks take off with the type writer (which leads to the sequel to this book.)Overall this book has great repetitive phrases like clickity clack moo... etc. that make the book so unique and special plus help develop speech and technique. Plus, the book is pure enjoyment.

We are completely in love with Doreen Cronin books! We started with The Chicken Squad... and it was our spark. Our upcoming 2nd grader finally fell in love with reading, thanks to these adorable and mischievous chickens! In LOVE - find him under the covers with a booklight giggling about chickens - in love.We're anxiously awaiting the next Chicken Squad book, and in the meantime have started on the prequel JJ Tully Mysteries. Absolutely adorable, and just as enjoyable for parents as for the kids. Our son is working his way through the 2nd Chicken Squad independently, and we supplement by reading the JJ Tully books to him, which are a just a bit more advanced (i.e. less pictures, slightly smaller text than Chicken Squad, but still lots of great illustrations, and nice manageable chapter sizes).

This is a creative book that has helped spark an interest in reading for my 4 year old. "The Chicken Squad" is well written and humorous for its intended audience; I would say ages 5+ would understand the humor; I had to explain it to my son. It is a great first chapter book: simple mystery, short chapters, 8 characters, and you can get through it in less than a week by reading a few chapters a day.Bonus: it also teaches synonyms and more complex shapes.The illustrations give life to the characters.I would definitely recommend it for young readers and their parents!
