Besides the book, a friend had purchased the DVD workshop from their website. I don't see the DVD set on Amazon so I am going to just do a combined review here since the workshop pretty much follows the book. Many cultures use the breath for healing and spiritual practice. Besides the calming effects of breath, the breath is used to draw in universal energy. In India they call the practice of the breath pranayama and the ancient Hawaiians used the breath to gather mana to heal. I had been thinking of using some breathing practices in energy work so Quantum Touch (QT) interested me as it essentially uses of the breath in energy work or energy healing. Both the book and DVDs present the information in a simple and straightforward manner. Richard Gordon who authored the book runs the workshop on the DVD set and he comes across and gentle with a commonsense and humorous personality. My friend who has already viewed the DVD set before I watched it again with her was practicing QT on me was able to even out my hips. One side was about a half an inch higher on one side because one leg is longer. I was not able to even out her hips much on my first try. I had her re-check my hips a couple days later wondering if the one longer leg would again cause my hips to go out of alignment. The side with the longer leg had gone a bit higher again so it seemed that for such conditions repeated treatments might be required to keep the hips aligned. I am not sure if repeated treatments would eventually keep the hips aligned. Some of the photos in the book showing spinal curvatures and bowed legs that were straightened are stunning and I am going to look for some people willing to try QT and can affect their conditions postively and I am going to use some of the QT techiniques when I do healings so see if there are better results.I liked that the book and DVD were complete and not just a come on or advertisement to take a QT workshop with missing or very limited information like the 21st Century Shamanism or Matrix Energetics books. Of course, there are other workshops and Richard mentions the Supercharging workshop during the DVD workshop and in the book, but I wouldn't call it the hard sell. My friend purchased the video workshop for $125, but you can follow the book and learn QT. You learn breathing techniques to bring energy to your hands and QT also introduces some toning (sound, this can also be imagining the sound in your head) to amplify the energy. Gordon also explains a simple distance healing technique. Overall I would say it gives the interested person the basic techniques needed to start healing. I found myself agreeing with a lot of what Gordon says about the nature of healing and it matched up with my experience. I would only disagree that 2 healers are about the maximum per person and additional healers don't add that much more to the healing session. I think group healing does add a lot more power, but not everyone should be working on the person. If you have ever sat in an expectant and excited crowd you can feel the high energy in the room. The only drawback for me is that the QT practitioner has to keep the breathing going all during the treatment. I found myself concentrating on the breathing more than the patient/healing, but I am sure after awhile the breathing becomes second nature.
This book has changed my life. It honestly really works. A friend recommended it when my husband was in the hospital, very critically ill, waiting on a liver transplant. I jumped right in and started doing quantum touch on him as I was reading the book and the results were mind-blowing. I use it now on my dog, who has arthritis. Having this tool at my finger tips (literally) has changed my life.
I practiced an hour session with my husband today who has chronic pain after reading and practicing...and my God, it worked. Was literally buzzing with energy. It was a powerful experience and my husband is pain free. Why we do not practice this as a society and lean on big Parma instead is nuts.
I ordered two copies of this book from the Amazon seller, and while the books were labeled "new" and were unused, the pages were yellowed and the books looked like they'd been stored for a long time in a hot place. I would not have bought these two copies if I had been able to see them in advance. I'm still giving it 5 stars because I like the book that much.The book itself is excellent and I have given it away to many people who want to learn how to do what I can do for them. It is amazing what can be done energetically to help heal the body. I did not need to attend a workshop in order to do this successfully, the book was clear enough. I would compare this method to Reiki, except this is much cleaner, stronger, and easier to do. I highly recommend this book.
I purchased the first edition of Quantum Touch quite a few years ago and am delighted now to be able to buy the third edition. My brother developed esophageal cancer over 20 years ago and had surgery which removed portions of his esophagus and stomach. This is a very nasty cancer. Few people ever survive it. My brother has been cancer free for more than 20 years.I started doing energy healing work for him the day I learned of his illness and have done it steadily since then. Did it help him beat this disease? I don't know for sure, but I'm reasonably sure it did. In any case, I am SURE that it helps him deal with the chronic pain and discomfort that resulted from the surgery. The technique I originally used was not Quantum Touch but something similar. After I read the first edition of this book, I started using QT exclusively. I use the remote healing technique with a Teddy Bear as the surrogate.My brother recently told me that he is developing cataracts in his eyes. He is 68 years old and cataracts are not unusual as we get older. They are not serious at this point. He still sees pretty well. But this prompted me to buy the 3rd edition of Quantum Touch so that I could renew my skills and see if it will help with this condition. The goal is to postpone cataract surgery or preferably eliminate the need to have it done.My brother is a very artistic person and has recently retired. He wants to learn to paint landscapes. I am an artist and am delighted to help him with this project. Developing cataracts threatens this and struck me as unbearably unfair given all his previous health problems.If I am able, I am going to keep this from happening.
